Forty-six major projects worth 22.6 billion yuan ($3.33 billion) in investment broke ground or were signed in Suzhou New District on Feb 7.
These projects are related to fields such as new energy, photon, biological medicine and new-generation information technology. Specifically, four projects were backed by investments of more than 1 billion yuan, while seven boasted investments of over 500 million yuan.
Chen Qixing, chairman of Shenzhen Everwin Precision Group, Yang Jianfeng, chairman of Suzhou Current Power Technology Limited Company, and several high-ranking executives of companies attended the signing ceremony.
Twenty-four projects worth a combined 3.51 billion yuan in investments were signed that day. These projects, all of which will be based in the SND, are related to the degradable materials, education, medicine and intellectual property rights sectors.
Another 22 projects worth 19.09 billion yuan in investments broke ground that day.
Business representatives attending the ceremony voiced their willingness to step up investment in SND, and the district’s officials also vowed more support for companies.
