WND seeks business opportunities in Europe

A business delegation of representatives from Wuxi National Hi-tech District returned to Wuxi on the evening of Feb 8 after a 10-day trip to 10 European cities in Spain, Belgium, and Germany.

During the visit, they participated in events such as the World Internet of Things Expo in Barcelona, met with more than 20 European high-tech companies, research institutions, and universities, and hosted various promotions on the innovation capabilities and business environment of Wuxi.

They looked for business opportunities focusing on emerging industries such as the internet of things, integrated circuits, biomedicine, and new energy.

Wu Guodong, deputy director of WND, said that the delegation signed several agreements, including a $100 million investment to build the world's top medical center laboratory in Wuxi with Cerba Research Institute, the largest medical center laboratory in Europe, and a $50 million investment to strengthen research and development and expand the production capacity of Marquette Group.

Three overseas research and development centers were also established in Germany by Wuxi enterprises - Goldwind Science and Technology Co, Igen Technology Co and Wuxi Feilanaier Air Quality Technology Co.

WND is actively incentivizing local technology companies to go global and plans to organize 200 domestic and foreign investment promotion events and attract 2,000 new sci-tech enterprises this year.
