A signing ceremony was held in Pudong New Area on Feb 14. At the ceremony, Shanghai Maritime Court and Pudong New Area People's Government signed a memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to upgrade Pudong's shipping system.
At the same time, a total of 10 policies to help build Pudong into an international shipping center were released, and a number of key shipping projects were announced to start.

According to the MOU, the two parties will cooperate in eight aspects, including innovating the shipping sector, studying the shipping legislation and cultivating top-notch maritime law talents.
In terms of the 10 favorable policies, they are formulated to gather shipping talents, support offshore shipping services and attract key projects.
According to Hang Yingwei, head of Pudong New Area, Pudong will strive to reform the shipping system to acquire a stronger transit capacity, make the system more vibrant and better integrate into the global shipping network.
At the ceremony, a number of key projects from a wide range of sectors were officially announced to start, including Evergreen Group’s international liner logistics center and DB Schenker's distribution center for integrated logistics. The projects are expected to help build Pudong into an international shipping hub that take a leading role in technological innovation in the shipping industry worldwide.
