Huangpu district will strive to sign agreements on more than 400 industrial projects and more than 10 10-billion-yuan-level ($1.46 billion) projects this year, bolstering the district's development with significant investment attraction.
At present, Huangpu has formed five 100-billion-yuan industrial clusters and three 50-billion-yuan industrial clusters, leading national development districts in terms of speed and efficiency of development.
In 2022, Huangpu signed agreements on 275 projects, with annual actual utilization of foreign capital exceeding $2.9 billion, ranking first among national economic development zones for the fourth consecutive year. It also won two national awards, the Outstanding Investment Promotion Agency Award and the Outstanding Investment Promotion Project Award for the fourth consecutive year.
In January, Huangpu signed agreements on 47 projects, and the actual utilization of foreign capital reaching $280 million, an increase of 52.32 percent year-on-year, ranking first among all districts in Guangzhou.
Huangpu is now focusing on strengthening pillar industries like petrochemicals, electronics, as well as food and beverages. It is also striving to expand emerging industries, such as biomedicine and health, integrated circuits and displays, as well as new energy and intelligent connected vehicles while laying out future industries like hydrogen energy storage and aerospace.
In October 2022, WeRide cooperated with Huangpu-based enterprise Hyundai Motor Hydrogen Fuel Cell System (Guangzhou) to build the world's first driverless hydrogen vehicle demonstration zone around hydrogen energy commercial cooperation.
With the participation of enterprises like Farasis Energy and WeRide, Huangpu is making every effort to build a whole industrial chain for new energy vehicles from key component R&D and vehicle manufacturing to intelligent connected travel.
