The Wuhan municipal bureau of economy and informatization recently issued the list of the second group of 699 recommended innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which included 127 companies based in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone, the second most in the city.
The innovative SMEs are highly professional and innovative companies with strong development potential. Provincial and national specialized and new enterprises are usually selected from them.
The 127 selected WEDZ firms focus on automotive spare components, smart manufacturing, new energy, new materials, electronic information, and life and health.
The zone has been carrying out an SME growth program which aims to help local SMEs develop through a series of policy tools in finance, tax, technology and industry.
So far, the zone is home to 190 such innovative SMEs, 26 national and 118 provincial-level specialized and new little giant companies, 82 gazelle firms, 86 innovation platforms at or above the provincial level, and over 1,000 sci-tech corporations.
