A high-technology project in the field of new energy applications, located in the city of Baotou – in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – has been honored at the national level.
The endeavor is called the "Baotou Light Industry: 36-inch High-efficiency Thermal Field R&D and New Energy Application" project.
It was recently selected to be on the 2022 Innovation China Global Top 100 Technology Transfer Projects List – making it the first time that the city made it onto that compilation.
The ranking is said to be one of the most influential lists compiled by Innovation China.
Innovation China is a brand created by China Association for Science and Technology with the goal of promoting the deep integration of the sci-tech economy.
The list serves mainly to summarize top cross-border technology cooperation and technology projects cooperation, through a collection of case studies on international technology transfers.
This is seen as helping Science and Technology Innovation China to facilitate the integration of science, technology and the economy, accelerate the cross-border flow of innovation elements and promote the construction of an international open innovation system.
Since the city was selected as one of the first pilot cities for Innovation China, it has fully utilized its resources to promote the effective matching of business demand and technology supplies.
Since 2022, Baotou has carried out more than 30 special activities for the commercialization of sci-tech achievements, such as technical roadshows, innovation competitions and online exchanges of information.
Moreover, the city has mapped out 46 solutions for the implementation and application of enterprise technical requirements and registered 34 patents or patent intentions.
