Hometown returnee prospers in planting

Zhang Xiangfu is proud of his new occupation as a farmer in his hometown of Quzhou county in Handan, Hebei province.

The 32-year-old had worked in several places since he graduated from high school 10 years ago.

In 2021, he decided to go back home when he saw an opportunity to develop a business planting succulents.

"Succulents are colorful and lovely, becoming popular for decoration," Zhang said, adding he believes it will be a promising industry in the future.

Zhang thus rented three greenhouses at Lintang village in Quzhou and set up a company involving production and sales last year.
