Changan launched its CS95 Plus SUV on Tuesday, with travel-loving larger families in the country as its target customers.
Seven-seat models are getting popular with larger families that have two or three kids, said the State-owned carmaker.
The newly launched CS95 Plus, available in three variants, has segment-leading dimensions, measuring 4,949 mm in length, 1,940 mm in width and 1,805 mm in height.
Tailor-made for travel-loving families, the model has a luggage space up to 465 liters when the third-row seats are folded down, and the figure can reach 2,000 liters if the two-row ones are down as well.
The model sports Changan's own 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and an Aisin eight-speed gearbox, generating a maximum output of 171 kW and a top torque of 390 Nm.
It features iFlyTek's Flying Fish 3.0 system, which involves voice control in addition to entertainment, navigation as well as making calls. The SUV boasts Level 2 driving-assist system, ranging from lane centering to speed sign recognition.
SUVs are the best-selling segment in China. Last month, their sales stood at 623,000 units, according to the China Passenger Car Association. Of the top 15 best-selling SUVs in January, three came from Changan. Chinese carmakers in total had 10 models on the list.
