Suzhou New District hailed the start of 53 mega projects in a groundbreaking ceremony held in the Taihu Science and Technology City on Feb 2.
The projects attracted 52.76 billion yuan ($7.85 billion) in investment, with 92.8 percent of the capital flowing into high-tech sectors.
Bian Xiaoran, chairman of Parsunpower, an engine manufacturing company, Fang Jiaen, chairman of Rigger Micro Technologies, a provider of chip packaging and testing, and Jiang Jia, president of Suzhou Chu Xin Technologies Co Ltd, which specializes in manufacturing intelligent tableware, were invited to be present at the event along with some top SND officials.
The 53 projects focus on areas like photons, medical equipment, integrated circuits and low-carbon and green technology.
