Wuxi welcomes first industry valued at 1t yuan

Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province welcomed its first industry with a total annual output value exceeding 1 trillion yuan ($148.52 billion) last year.

The output value of the city's machinery industry enterprises above designated size totaled 1.1 trillion yuan in 2022, up 14 percent from the previous year and accounting for 45.8 percent of the city's total industrial output.

Last year, these enterprises also won the National Machinery Industry Science and Technology Progress Awards and the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards.

Far East Holding Group Co Ltd, Wuxi Huaguang Environment & Energy Group Co Ltd, and Wuxi Huamei Cable Co Ltd made the list of top 100 Chinese machinery enterprises.

FAW Jiefang Automotive Co Ltd and WEIFU Group were listed among top 30 auto parts manufacturers in China, while three other companies, including Kaicheng Hoisting Machinery Co Ltd and Wuxi New Great Power Electrical Machine Co Ltd, were rated as an enterprise of integrity in China's machinery industry in 2022.

The city's industrial output value accounted for 56 percent of the GDP in Wuxi, the highest over the past decade, and the added value of industries above designated size exceeded 500 billion yuan for the first time last year.
