The launch ceremony of a new school building at Ratna Secondary School in Nepal, a project aided by China, was held on Feb 3, 2023. Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, attended and addressed the ceremony.
Dahal extended his appreciation to the Chinese government and people and applauded China's contribution to the post-disaster reconstruction of Nepal. He pledged that Nepal will advance its pragmatic cooperation with China with concrete actions to move the bilateral relations to a higher level.
The ceremony was also a celebration of the 59th anniversary of the school, which is one of the 10 China-aided schools in the northern mountainous areas of Nepal. It is the biggest and best equipped secondary school in the area, and can hold over 700 students.
