Yangzhou in East China's Jiangsu province will host a series of activities to celebrate the upcoming Lantern Festival, which falls on Feb 5 this year.
Activities include folk performances, riddle guessing, and intangible cultural heritage shows, according to authorities.
Immersive performances and light shows are being held from Jan 23 to Feb 6 in the evening at Slender West Lake scenic area.
Performances featuring the guzheng, pipa, dragon dances, and lion dances will be held at Geyuan Garden on Feb 5. The garden will also host activities like making lanterns and riddle guessing on the same day.
Lantern riddle guessing activities will be held at Song Jia City Sports and Leisure Park and the Museum of Guang Ling King's Tomb in Han Dynasty from Feb 3 to 5. In addition, animal-themed riddle guessing activities will be held at Zhuyuwan Scenic Spot on Feb 5.
Activities showcasing intangible cultural heritage items like making lanterns, tangyuan, dough figurines, paper cutting, and sugar painting will be held on Pishi Street from Feb 3 to 8.
A parent-child lantern making activity will also be hosted at Yangzhou Museum on Feb 3.
