Sources from the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Hubei province suggested that by Feb 5, about 99.4 percent of manufacturers above a designated size in the province had resumed operations after the week-long Spring Festival holiday, marking a good start to the first quarter of the new year.
Governments of cities in Hubei made plans for business resumption after the Spring Festival in advance. By Feb 5, 13 cities and autonomous prefectures have business resumption rates of over 99 percent, with the rate of eight of them reaching 100 percent.
All pharmacy companies in Hubei have resumed operations, more than anywhere else in the province, and the numbers of food, automobile, oil, machinery, electronics and light companies producing daily necessities which have resumed operation all exceeded the provincial average.
Major enterprises, such as HGTECH, FiberHome and TCL, which are all based in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China), reported a 99.6 percent business resumption rate.
