Huangpu district recently ranked first in the 2022 assessment for the construction of a clean, safe, and orderly urban environment in Guangzhou.
The district developed and built a waste classification information management platform, installed electronic tags for 25,000 garbage cans, and switched to using more than 100 intelligent garbage collection and transportation trucks and six intelligent garbage compression stations.
A total of 98 percent of residents in the district are aware of garbage sorting, the recycling rate of kitchen waste is 21 percent, and the recycling rate of domestic waste is more than 45.6 percent.
Huangpu district has also upgraded its public toilets. Eight new public toilets have been built, and 15 have been recently renovated.
Huangpu has adhered to safety laws, and all catering establishments in the district have been equipped with combustible gas detection and alarm devices.
In 2022, the district demolished almost 12,000 illegal constructions, spanning an area of 3.88 million square meters.
Public toilets are renovated or newly built in the district.
