Nansha announces plans for high-quality development

Guangzhou's Nansha New Area held a conference on high-quality development on Jan 30, aiming to develop Nansha into Guangzhou's new core urban area.

At the conference, plans were proposed to promote Nansha's development. For instance, the district is expected to make more significant achievements this year by accelerating the implementation of Nansha plan issued by the State Council in June 2022.

Nansha also plans to accelerate the construction of 249 projects in 2023, and invest more than 20 billion yuan ($3 billion) into its transportation infrastructure. Upon completion, 32 municipal roads and bridges, such as Honglian Bridge and Zhongchuan Middle Road, will be opened to traffic.

The district aims to increase its annual GDP by more than 10 percent. It will also strive to achieve a total industrial output value growth of 16 percent, and an industrial investment growth of 85 percent.

Nansha plans to supply no less than 7,500 mu (500 hectares) in land for public infrastructure, industrial projects and key livelihood projects within the year.

In addition, resources will be allocated to further accelerate the construction of the Qingsheng Hub, Nansha Hub and Nansha Bay, as well as projects such as Biological Valley, Digital Valley and Health Valley.
