A signing ceremony took place in China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City on Jan 29, for major projects that will be built in Guangzhou within the first quarter of 2023. The ceremony involves more than 460 projects with an investment of more than 680 billion yuan ($101 billion).
Huangpu district has started construction on 100 projects simultaneously. These projects have a total investment of about 102.6 billion yuan and are expected to reach an output value and operating income of about 128.3 billion yuan once completed.
Another 50 Huangpu projects have been signed, with a total investment of about 144.1 billion yuan, and their output value and operating income is expected to exceed 230 billion yuan. The number of projects, investment totals, and output value all accounts for about one-third of Guangzhou's total, ranking first of all districts in Guangzhou.
Among the 150 projects, there are 110 industrial projects with a total investment of 221.2 billion yuan. There are 74 manufacturing projects included in the list of industrial projects, accounting for 77 percent of the total. These projects cover key areas such as new energy materials, new generation information technology, biomedicine and health, automotive industry chain, artificial intelligence, and intelligent equipment.
