Maoming enjoys tourism boom in Spring Festival

Maoming witnessed a tourism boom during the Spring Festival holiday, with a wide range of festive activities and various types of travel products attracting a large number of visitors.

From Jan 21 to 27, Maoming received about 2 million visitors, up 40.3 percent year-on-year. Its tourism revenue was 1.26 billion yuan ($186.24 million), up 8.62 percent year-on-year.

Maoming arranged a wide range of activities to welcome Spring Festival. For example, Yushui Ancient Hot Spring Scenic Area, A national 4A-level tourist attraction, organized activities such as hot spring retreats, Chinese costume tours, temple blessing fairs and ancient lantern fairs. Numerous activities promoted the continued popularity of scenic tourism.

Rural tourism in Maoming was also popular with tourists. Xinyi's rural tourist attractions have become the first choice for many, with Shuanghe village, Baishi Sanhua Plum Resort and Jinjiang Gallery Belt Road being popular places to visit.

Municipal cultural venues remained open during Spring Festival, continuing to enrich the range of public cultural services. The Maoming Cultural Center organized a graphic exhibition on the culture of Madame Xian while the Maoming Museum put together a Gaozhou woodcutting activity.
