Zhuhai regains strong festive atmosphere during holiday

Zhuhai was filled with a happy and festive atmosphere during the week-long Spring Festival holiday, which ran from Jan 21 to 27, bringing back the prosperity and vitality that it once had before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zhuhai Aerospace Land in Jinwan District, which has recently opened for trail operation at Zhuhai Airshow Center, received around 7,000 visitors on Jan 22. Its interactive experience projects, such as virtual reality (VR), and three-dimensional and four-dimensional filming technologies, were popular among young visitors.

The traditional lion, dragon, and tiger dance performances met the public at the Chimelong International Ocean Resort in Hengqin from Jan 22 to 28, while China's first 13-m (43-ft) high manned mechanical beast "Super Mammoth" has become a must-see attraction.

Other tourist attractions in the city have released colorful cultural and arts events to entertain visitors. People have also enjoyed their holiday by having picnics, going camping, flying kites, and visiting lantern shows.

In the meantime, the citywide Spring Festival flower markets returned after three years, bringing with them not only the blooming and lively Spring Festival atmosphere, but also providing ideal places for people to buy flowers and try local delicacies.

More than 1,000 kinds of flowers were displayed at over 100 booths in City Balcony's Spring Festival flower market, while the 2023 Wanzai Tourist Terminal Spring Festival flower market offered fresh flowers which were transported directly from planting bases in Yunnan province by air.

In the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan), the Jinyin Bay Spring Festival flower market provided convenient services for people such as home delivery and over 7,000 parking spaces.

Chen Jierong, inheritor of Sanzao paper-cutting, a municipal-level intangible cultural heritage, presented on-site paper-cutting performances during the holiday at Weimin Square and Damenkou Wetland Park in Jinwan.

An RV base at Doumen's Lianzhou Town opened during the holiday, allowing visitors to enjoy the peaceful countryside in their separated courtyards. The RVs mainly provide two rooms and one sitting room, with a total area varying from 36 square meters (388 sq ft) to 40 sq m ( 430 sq ft).

The ancient Huitong Village in Jinding Town was decorated with red lanterns and beautiful flowers. It had also set up three special sites with folk elements and rabbits for people to take pictures with.

Huafa Mall in Xiangzhou's Nanping Town welcomed nearly 180,000 customers during the first two days of the Chinese Lunar New Year, while the Midtown Business Circle in Gongbei received a total visitor throughput of nearly 300,000 within the first five days of the Chinese Lunar New Year.
