OVC firm becomes national smart manufacturing demo plant

Four departments of the central government recently issued the 2022 list of smart manufacturing demonstration factories and the list of excellent smart manufacturing scenarios.

Four enterprises were selected as smart manufacturing demonstration factories, FiberHome Telecommunication Technologies Co, one of the four, is based in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC).

FiberHome is the only enterprise in the world to integrate three strategic optical communication technologies – optical communication systematic technology, optoelectronic device technology, and optical fiber and cable technology. The firm is among the world's top 10 most competitive enterprises in this area.

FiberHome has formed full-fledged sales, R&D, production, and service systems in about 50 countries in the world, and boasts 11 global product delivery centers. Its optical cable exports have ranked first in China for the past decade.

By adopting next-generation technologies such as industrial internet, AI and industrial big data, the firm has set up a smart manufacturing factory that can produce highly customized products.
