Nansha district was highlighted as one of Guangzhou's two core areas to develop in 2023, a government work report announced on Jan 7.
Nansha New Area was qualified to be a State-level new area in 2012, and was positioned as the sub-center of Guangzhou in 2016.
In last year's government work report, Nansha was proposed as the main area to promote high-quality development, and actively sought out State-level support to further develop comprehensive cooperation between Nansha, Hong Kong and Macao.
In June, 2022, the State Council's plan for promoting comprehensive cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao by further opening-up was issued and implemented in Nansha.
Nansha recently proposed to build four major hubs based on the large-scale market of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. They are three-dimensional regional transportation, complex international shipping, innovative international trade, and open international information hubs.
