With a total investment of 110 million yuan ($16.22 million), the new railway station features Jiangyan design characteristics and is expected to be a shining part of the Nanjing-Qidong Railway.
The original railway station was built in 2005, but its scale and facilities did not meet the growing travel needs of passengers.
The upgrade and renovation project started in January 2020. Under it, the station adopted a reinforced concrete frame structure and a steel mesh roof, said Gu Anbao, director of the Jiangyan transportation bureau.
Gu added that the new railway station would become another landmark of Jiangyan district.
