During the New Year's Day holiday from Dec 31, 2022 to Jan 2, 2023, Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province released policies and tourism products to meet the traveling needs of the public.
The light show on Dec 31 at Guiyang's Tianhetan scenic spot attracted about 20,000 tourists who welcomed the new year together. Moli Town opened its first free lantern art festival in Baiyun district during the holiday and attracted an estimated 10,000 tourists.
Guiyang's various scenic spots, hot springs and art galleries offered discounts on tickets, accommodation and shopping to attract tourists.
During the holiday, visitors experienced Guiyang's intangible cultural heritage items, participated in online quizzes, joined free art courses, attended shopping festivals and made handicrafts.
The tourist reception volume at Guiyang's main scenic spots such as Qingyan Ancient Town, Tianhetan scenic spot and the Confucius Academy each exceeded 10,000 people during the holiday.
