Zhuhai second in Guangdong for manufacturing development

Seventy-nine Zhuhai-based enterprises made it onto the 2022 Top 500 Guangdong Manufacturing Enterprises list, which was released during the Dec 28 Annual Guangdong Manufacturing Industrial Development Conference in Guangzhou.

Zhuhai ranked second for the first time among 21 Guangdong cities in terms of the number of enterprises included on the list, only after Foshan City. Gree Electric Appliances, Ninestar, Zhuhai CosMX Battery, and United Laboratories are some Zhuhai enterprises that made it onto the top 100 list.

The companies are also examples fully showcasing the city's advantages in developing its four major industries of next-generation information technology, new energy, integrated circuits, biomedicine and health, as well as three advantageous industries of intelligent household appliances, equipment manufacturing, and fine chemicals.

A total of 77 enterprises entered the list in 2021, which was 30 more than in 2020. This brings Zhuhai to first place in the province in terms of the number increase.

Zhuhai achieved 535.82 billion yuan ($76.8 billion) in the added value of enterprises above designated size within the first 11 months of 2022, a year-on-year increase of 8.4 percent. The city's industrial investment soared by 62.7 percent in the January-November period, topping the province in terms of the growth rate.

Moreover, investment in Zhuhai's manufacturing industry increased by 90.2 percent since the beginning of the year, providing vital support for the city's stable economic growth.
