Huangpu high-tech enterprises recognized by Guangdong

A total of 995 enterprises in Huangpu district and the Guangzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone were recently selected to be part of the third batch of high-tech enterprises identified by Guangdong province in 2022.

The total number of high-tech enterprises in Huangpu district and the Guangzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone has already exceeded 2,500, ranking first in Guangzhou for the first time. Among them, more than 80 percent are small and medium-sized enterprises.

In 2022, R&D investment in Huangpu reached 25.54 billion yuan ($3.67 billion), a significant increase of 22 percent year-on-year. R&D investment in high-tech enterprises account for more than 80 percent of that total.

Huangpu enterprises set 254 key science and technology projects, and received 378 million yuan in funding this year, accounting for more than one-third of the amount in Guangzhou as a whole.

The district has traded more than 65 billion yuan in technology contracts this year.
