Wuxi National Hi-tech District ranked second in comprehensive strength among Chinese integrated circuit industrial parks on a list recently released during the 2023 China Semiconductor Investment Alliance Annual Conference.
The list was created by the China Semiconductor Investment Alliance and semiconductor industry website ijiwei, which evaluated 50 key IC industrial parks via a multi-dimensional evaluation system including the output value of the industry, industrial cluster construction, policy support, and talent development, in order to weigh the comprehensive strength of national IC industrial parks.
Wuxi National Hi-tech District, as the core of Wuxi's IC industrial development, has been working to accelerate the development of the IC industry.
The district is now home to more than 400 IC companies with over 68,000 employees. It has formed an entire industrial chain covering IC design, manufacturing, packaging and testing, and equipment supplies. In the first three quarters of 2022, the output value of the IC industry in WND exceeded 109.5 billion yuan ($15.67 billion), a year-on-year growth rate of 20 percent. In 2022, the annual output value is expected to exceed 130 billion yuan.
