WND eyes development of aerospace industry

A delegation from the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics visited the Wuxi National Hi-tech District on Dec 16 to promote exchanges and cooperation in the development of the aerospace industry in WND.

WND Party Secretary Cui Rongguo welcomed the delegation led by Lin Zuoming, president of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics and former chairman of Aviation Industry Corp of China.

During the meeting, Cui gave a briefing on the economic and social development of WND. In recent years, WND has been promoting the development of integrated clusters of strategic emerging industries, focusing on the development of internet of things and digital industries, integrated circuits, and biomedicine.

In addition, with help from its unique locational advantages, WND has been strengthening its industrial layout in key aerospace fields and building an aerospace industrial park around aircraft engines and spare parts, new materials, 3D printing and other industrial chains and related supporting facilities, aiming to become a new hub for the development of the aerospace industry in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Lin said that WND, located in the center of the Yangtze River Delta, has a strong industrial foundation and geographical advantages for the development of the aerospace industry. The Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics will give full play to its resources to promote cooperation in aerospace industry cultivation, industry-university-research integration, and hosting innovation and entrepreneurship competitions in the aviation field in WND.
