A business delegation from Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province started visiting clients the minute their chartered airplane landed in France on Dec 9.
The first stop for the investment promotion team from Wuxi Economic Development Zone was the electronic chip designer Seamless Waves, which intends to build its Chinese headquarters in the zone and plans to cooperate with the zone's Wuxi Fund Park.
Founder of Seamless Waves Hassan Aboushady is expected to visit Wuxi during the first quarter of next year.
The investment promotion team will visit 20 institutions, universities and enterprises during the 10-day European trip to promote cooperation on eight projects, including the innovation and software development center of Bosch China.
On their first day in France, the investment promotion team from the Xishan Economic Development Zone visited five enterprises and institutions such as LBO France, one of the oldest buyout funds in the country, and inaugurated two liaison offices.
Over the following days, the investment promotion team will visit more than 10 institutions and enterprises in eight cities in Germany.
Their German trip will focus on scientific innovation, technological cooperation, and cultural exchange, with the goal of attracting more high-quality projects.
Wuxi authorities organized their first business delegation this year to Japan in October. The Japanese trip saw the signing of orders worth $30 million and cooperation agreements on 12 projects worth $750 million.
In addition, local authorities have arranged for 200 enterprises to attend exhibitions overseas so far this year, during which orders worth $350 million have been secured.
