Liangxi and Binhu districts in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, recently made the list of the first 16 culture and tourism industry integrated development demonstration zones in the province.
Liangxi district has been promoting the integration of the culture and tourism industries in recent years.
The district has launched several travel routes to connect local tourist attractions and showcase its Grand Canal culture and scenery. It has also encouraged cultural performances and sports competitions to be held at attractions.
Liangxi's intangible cultural heritage items and local folk activities have also been transformed into more appealing presentations at tourist attractions.
Binhu district is rich in cultural and tourism attractions, with 123 such facilities, including three 5A-level tourist attractions and two national wetland parks.
The district is also home to 26 intangible cultural heritage items and 120 cultural enterprises above designated size.
The Nianhua Bay scenic spot in Binhu was listed as one of the first national nighttime culture and tourism consumption zones, while its Sunac Resort was listed among the Jiangsu nighttime culture and tourism consumption zones.
To promote the further integration of the culture and tourism industries, Wuxi also started building an online platform last year to share all information and services related to tourism.
