Liaoning province recently organized an economic and trade delegation to Japan and South Korea and made considerable achievements.
During the eight-day visit, the delegation had close communication with enterprises and chambers of commerce in South Korea and Japan. Cooperation projects included more than 30 investments in equipment manufacturing, petrochemicals, the automotive and information industries, food processing and new energy. Orders valued at more than 3.5 billion yuan ($503 million) were contracted for export from Liaoning.
Yu Miaojie, president of Liaoning University, said that the province should promote the construction of China-Japan-ROK free trade zone.
"The most important thing for Liaoning's opening-up is Japan and South Korea. Therefore, we should establish a high-level economic relationship with them. If it can be done, the revitalization of Liaoning and the all-around revitalization of Northeast China will be just around the corner. "
