In Jilin, rime ice dazzles

After a heavy snowfall, residents and tourists in Jilin city, Jilin province, welcomed a beautiful landscape of rime ice recently.

Rime is a special type of frost resembling granular tufts of ice that only occurs under certain conditions of temperature and humidity. Warm water vapor from the Songhua River meets cold air, which creates the rime on trees along the river.

The spectacular sight has turned the city into a dreamy world and attracts photographers to record it.
