Shexian hospital utilizes TCM to ensure health of locals

The Shexian Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine – located in Huangshan city, Anhui – is widely said to be giving full play to its advantages in TCM and sparing no effort in protecting the health of locals.

The pharmacy room of the hospital is now at full capacity, with all pharmacists busy with preparations such as dispensing and cleaning and four automatic pharmaceutical machines are in orderly production.

"A number of famous Chinese medicine practitioners in the hospital have studied an anti-epidemic formula and equipped themselves with sufficient amounts of Chinese medicinal materials," said Qiu Songkun, head of the medical department.

The hospital has also launched Chinese medicine sachets on the basis of the original prescriptions and pills.

The sachets are equipped with more than a dozen flavors of Chinese medicine powder in strict proportion. These can launch the active ingredients contained in the drug in the natural environment – directly acting on the mouth, nose, skin and meridian acupuncture points – and spread them throughout the body.

The sachets can improve human immunity and prevent viral infection. This is more suitable for the elderly, children and people with low immunity, said Xie Liming, director of the fever outpatient department.
