Tax reduction helps boost rural vitalization in Tai'an

The tax bureau of Tai'an in East China's Shandong province has played an active role in helping boost the rural vitalization in the city by strictly implementing the central government's tax reduction policies and continuously optimizing services for farmers.

"Under the guidance of the tax bureau, we have been exempted from paying 132,000 yuan ($18,916) in taxes since the beginning of this year," said Wang Zhaoxiang, general manager of the Taishan Mountain Tea Stream Valley, an ecological tourism complex focusing on Taishan Tea.

When learning about the company's difficulties, the tax bureau dispatched a service team to offer targeted solutions in taxation, according to Wang.

He noted that the saved money was used to develop the tea gardens, which is intended to create more jobs for local farmers and increase their incomes.

"During recruitment, we are giving priority to villagers with difficulties and provide them with professional technical guidance for free, so that the preferential taxation policies can benefit more people," Wang added.

In addition to the tea industry, farmers planting golden chrysanthemums in Xintai, a county-level city in Tai'an, have also benefited from the tax bureau's services.

"Officials often visit the plantations to teach farmers about the latest taxation policies and even how to issue fapiao, or receipts, online," said Qin Yuanzhu, head of a local chrysanthemum business.

At present, the golden chrysanthemum plantations totaled more than 2,000 hectares in Xintai city with an output value of 240 million yuan. The industry has created 15,000 jobs and increased employees' monthly incomes by 2,000 yuan.
