The top 50 list of the most innovative high-end technology manufacturers in China was released by China Internet Weekly recently, and solar giant LONGi Green Energy Technology Co – located in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province – was included in the top 10.
The top 50 most innovative high-end manufacturers cover the fields of solar power, new energy, semiconductors, integrated circuits, aviation, robots, engineering machinery and carbon fiber.
Established in 2000, LONGi says it is committed to becoming the world's most valuable solar technology company.
With a focus on sci-tech innovation, it has built up five major business areas. These are for monocrystalline silicon wafers, battery components, industrial and commercial distributed solutions, green energy solutions and hydrogen energy equipment.
LONGi has proposed what it calls a "Solar for Solar" model. This aims to practice the concepts of clean production and green manufacturing, while creating low-cost clean energy for the world.
According to the latest certification report from the prestigious Institut für Solarenergieforschung in Hameln (ISFH) – a solar energy research institute in Germany – the company has set a new world record with an efficiency of 26.81 percent in its HJT silicon solar cells on full-size silicon wafers through mass production.
