More than 30 representatives from Suzhou New District joined a delegation led by the Suzhou commerce bureau on a business trip to France and Germany from Dec 9 to 18, local media outlets reported.
The representatives were from SND's government investment promotion departments as well as local foreign trade enterprises.
They will visit the headquarters of global top 500 enterprises, leading industrial enterprises, and financial institutions such as Siemens, Schneider, Knorr-Bremse, Biomerieux, and Cathay Capital.
Lexy, a domestic home appliance giant based in SND, was also part of the delegation to seek new business opportunities in Europe. The team of 13 will be divided into several groups to retain customers and win new deals in 10 European countries.
Six offline matchmaking events will be held on the sidelines of the trip, such as the sustainable development and cooperation exchange meeting in Munich, Germany and the innovation and entrepreneurship forum in Paris, France.
Teachers from Nanjing University's Suzhou Campus, which is located in SND, also joined the trip. They will visit Sorbonne University and Paris Institute of Technology in France, aiming to attract more high-caliber professionals from overseas and further promote Sino-foreign cooperative education programs.
