On Dec 12, 3,943 patients were released from hospital after being cured (61 imported cases; 3,882 indigenous cases, 1,802 in Guangdong province, 473 in Beijing municipality, 341 in Sichuan province, 216 in Chongqing municipality, 142 in Fujian province, 133 in Yunnan province, 108 in Zhejiang province, 91 in Heilongjiang province, 83 in Henan province, 74 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 65 in Liaoning province, 50 in Shanxi province, 50 in Shaanxi province, 49 in Jiangsu province, 39 in Hunan province, 38 in Shandong province, 37 in Guizhou province, 31 in Shanghai municipality, 13 in Hebei province, 11 in Hubei province, 10 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 6 in Anhui province, 6 in Hainan province, 5 in Qinghai province, 4 in Tibet autonomous region, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Gansu province). 195,613 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 6.

As of 24:00 on Dec 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 28,275 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 27,784 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 491 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Dec 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 367,627 confirmed cases and 5,235 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 326,052 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 36,340 confirmed cases (including 147 cases in serious condition) and 18 suspected cases. 15,057,211 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 777,516 were still under medical observation.

As of 24:00 on Dec 12, 8,958,677 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 476,597 in Hong Kong (10,984 had died and 103,196 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 1,040 in Macao (6 had died and 801 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 8,481,040 in Taiwan (14,710 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
