On Dec 6, 3,935 patients were released from hospital after being cured (68 imported cases; 3,867 indigenous cases, 1,354 in Guangdong province, 692 in Beijing municipality, 482 in Henan province, 283 in Chongqing municipality, 168 in Shanxi province, 165 in Sichuan province, 115 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 76 in Liaoning province, 76 in Shandong province, 64 in Heilongjiang province, 57 in Yunnan province, 44 in Zhejiang province, 39 in Jiangsu province, 37 in Hebei province, 32 in Gansu province, 30 in Guizhou province, 28 in Fujian province, 23 in Shaanxi province, 21 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 14 in Hunan province, 12 in Shanghai municipality, 12 in Hubei province, 11 in Jilin province, 10 in Tianjin municipality, 9 in Anhui province, 6 in Qinghai province, 3 in Jiangxi province, 3 in Hainan province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region). 271,217 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. As of 24:00 on Dec 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 27,948 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 27,359 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 589 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Dec 6, the National Health Commission had received reports of 349,938 confirmed cases and 5,235 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 301,748 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 42,955 confirmed cases (including 128 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 14,464,177 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 1,831,208 were still under medical observation.

As of 24:00 on Dec 6, 8,862,813 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 466,509 in Hong Kong (10,842 had died and 100,900 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 827 in Macao (6 had died and 791 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 8,395,477 in Taiwan (14,522 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
