On Dec 2, 3,378 patients were released from hospital after being cured (81 imported cases; 3,297 indigenous cases, 1,600 in Guangdong province, 526 in Beijing municipality, 245 in Chongqing municipality, 193 in Shanxi province, 129 in Sichuan province, 101 in Hebei province, 88 in Henan province, 54 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 50 in Jiangsu province, 40 in Zhejiang province, 36 in Yunnan province, 29 in Heilongjiang province, 27 in Shandong province, 27 in Guizhou province, 27 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 25 in Liaoning province, 22 in Shaanxi province, 17 in Fujian province, 9 in Hunan province, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Tibet autonomous region, 8 in Gansu province, 7 in Jilin province, 6 in Anhui province, 6 in Hainan province, 4 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Hubei province and 1 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region). 284,736 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. As of 24:00 on Dec 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 27,716 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 27,006 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 710 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Dec 2, the National Health Commission had received reports of 331,952 confirmed cases and 5,233 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 287,361 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 39,358 confirmed cases (including 108 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 13,552,633 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 2,065,908 were still under medical observation.

As of 24:00 on Dec 2, 395,916 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 1,766 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Dec 2, 8,805,543 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 461,652 in Hong Kong (10,773 had died and 99,728 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 810 in Macao (6 had died and 791 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 8,343,081 in Taiwan (14,416 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
