Hai'an, a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province, experienced steady economic growth in the first seven months of this year.
In the Jan-July period, the city's industrial taxable sales amounted to 131.55 billion yuan ($19 billion), ranking first in Nantong, and its fixed asset investment totaled 35.32 billion yuan, up 3.5 percent year-on-year and ranking third in Nantong.
The taxable sales of the service industry in Hai'an reached 60.20 billion yuan during the same period and the operating revenue of key service sectors above designated size in the city stood at 4.18 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.7 percent.
The total retail sales of consumer goods in Hai'an totaled 22.96 billion yuan and the general public budget revenue in the city was 4.21 billion yuan.
The city's foreign trade was valued at 11.91 billion yuan, an increase of 9.4 percent year-on-year, including 9.74 billion yuan in self-support exports, a year-on-year increase of 17.4 percent.
