NETDA makes strides in aerospace industry

The Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) in East China's Jiangsu province has made remarkable achievements in developing its aerospace industry over the past few years.

Of particular note is GalaxySpace – an industry-leading unicorn enterprise which established a presence in the area in 2020 and will play a leading role in NETDA's space industry.

Founded in 2016, GalaxySpace produces small, low-cost, high-performance satellites using a flexible and efficient development model, and is also building the world's leading LEO broadband satellite constellation and a 5G communication network with global coverage.

In addition, a number of upstream and downstream space enterprises have set up projects in the area, which have injected much energy into NETDA's aerospace industry.

One of the reasons behind the boom is a series of measures rolled out by the authorities in NETDA which included financial support, preferential policies to attract high-caliber talent, and measures to optimize the business environment.

Liu Chang, vice president and co-founder of GalaxySpace, noted that the NETDA's full support has helped his company make significant breakthroughs in research, development and manufacturing.
