"Every year, coffee production is increasing more and more here in China. Now you can get freshly roasted coffee in the city quite easily." Brian Clark, a café owner who has been in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province, for about 14 years, talks about the development of the coffee industry in China. He owns a coffee specialty company and a coffee shop in the city.
Clark used to run a coffee wholesale company in Canada. In 2008, he and his family moved to Dalian because he was optimistic about the development of China's coffee industry.
In addition to his love for coffee, Clark also shows much interest in the Chinese tea culture. In his opinion, there are a number of similarities between tea and coffee making, where both the ingredients and the making process need to meet very specific requirements.
