The Pudong New Area in East China's Shanghai has made continuous efforts to pursue high-quality development in various fields and improve its soft power to ensure that its people are leading better and happier lives.
The area has built a number of cultural and art venues, including the Museum of Art Pudong, Shanghai Expo Cultural Park, and Shanghai Mercedes-Benz Arena, all of which have made it easier for local residents to have access to cultural and art activities, and helped enrich the intellectual and cultural lives of the public.
Pudong will continue to promote the deep integration and innovative development of culture, tourism and sports and launch several new cultural and tourism products in a bid to enhance the sense of fulfillment and happiness of its residents.
The Museum of Art Pudong is located next to the Oriental Pearl Tower in the heart of Lujiazui in Pudong. The 13,000-square-meter museum has become a new landmark in Shanghai's cultural scene. Since its opening in July 2021, the museum has received the most daily visitors among all art museums in Shanghai, and has won more than 20 awards at the municipal or district level.
The museum has signed cooperation agreements with the world's top four head galleries and build itself into a world-class art museum with "art for the people".
In September, the new Pudong branch of the Shanghai Library opened to the public. Spanning 115,000 square meters, the seven-story building is the largest library in China and can accommodate up to 6,000 readers daily and host more than 200 lectures and forums every year. The new library aims to develop into an intelligent public service platform that serves people's need for reading and information in the new digital age.
At the same time, there are also a number of major cultural facilities under construction in Pudong, all of which will help increase Pudong's soft power and enrich people's intellectual and cultural lives.
