On Nov 21, 1,137 patients were released from hospital after being cured (50 imported cases; 1,087 indigenous cases, 586 in Guangdong province, 131 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 87 in Chongqing municipality, 73 in Beijing municipality, 41 in Sichuan province, 28 in Shanxi province, 20 in Hunan province, 13 in Fujian province, 13 in Shandong province, 11 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 10 in Jiangsu province, 10 in Shaanxi province, 9 in Yunnan province, 8 in Gansu province, 7 in Tibet autonomous region, 6 in Qinghai province, 5 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Anhui province, 5 in Henan province, 5 in Guizhou province, 3 in Hebei province, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Hainan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region). 153,954 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. As of 24:00 on Nov 21, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 27,004 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 26,314 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 690 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 21, the National Health Commission had received reports of 290,787 confirmed cases and 5,231 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 262,260 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 23,296 confirmed cases (including 110 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 10,428,736 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 1,246,843 were still under medical observation.

As of 24:00 on Nov 21, 8,626,224 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 450,525 in Hong Kong (10,610 had died and 96,407 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 796 in Macao (6 had died and 789 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 8,174,903 in Taiwan (13,991 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
