The total industrial output value of Hohhot – capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – rose 12 percent year-on-year in October, despite the impact of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, according to local media reports.
During the epidemic period, Jinqiao Industrial Park – one of the biggest industrial parks in Hohhot – generated output value of 70 billion yuan ($9.9 billion), a year-on-year increase of 35 percent and it is expected to achieve an output value of some 100 billion yuan for the whole year.
In particular, the Zhonghuan Industrial Park in the park is the largest solar power components and materials production base in China, with nearly 10,000 employees and 16 upstream and downstream enterprises.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the company has actively assumed the main responsibility in the park for epidemic prevention and control, rented 80 hotels and 120 buses and organized the implementation of closed-loop management.
In October, the output value reached the highest monthly level of the year and the total output value for 2022 is expected to top 60 billion yuan.
CNPC Hohhot Petrochemical Co is the only large-scale petroleum refining and chemicals enterprise based in Inner Mongolia.
In October, the municipal government helped the company to achieve full closed-loop management, coordinated with the railway department to urgently arrange for the use of more than 2,000 refined oil tank cars and more than 100 railway boxcars – and successfully completed the sales task of 110,000 metric tons of refined oil and 12,000 tons of polypropylene.
During the period, the company processed 370,000 tons of crude oil, exceeding the monthly average output for the year to date.
