On Nov 16, 561 patients were released from hospital after being cured (44 imported cases; 517 indigenous cases, 234 in Guangdong province, 96 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 43 in Beijing municipality, 31 in Chongqing municipality, 25 in Sichuan province, 21 in Fujian province, 10 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 8 in Heilongjiang province, 6 in Jiangsu province, 6 in Hunan province, 6 in Yunnan province, 6 in Shaanxi province, 5 in Henan province, 4 in Gansu province, 3 in Shandong province, 3 in Qinghai province, 2 in Shanxi province, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Hubei province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Guizhou province). 111,033 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 14.

As of 24:00 on Nov 16, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 26,605 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 26,064 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 541 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 16, the National Health Commission had received reports of 279,431 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 257,033 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 17,172 confirmed cases (including 43 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 9,514,381 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 961,455 were still under medical observation.

As of 24:00 on Nov 16, 137,590 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 947 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 16, 8,538,934 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 446,021 in Hong Kong (10,557 had died and 95,095 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 795 in Macao (6 had died and 789 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 8,092,118 in Taiwan (13,714 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
