The total handling capacity of international aviation cargo in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, has exceeded 60,000 metric tons as of Nov 11.
The city opened seven new international cargo transportation routes this year and Nanning Wuxu International Airport now allows cargo to reach 12 cities in ASEAN countries and south Asia, including Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, as well as the Philippines.
The departure depot in the second phase of Nanning airport's public freight station, which started operation in November, has significantly enhanced the airport's international cargo transportation capacity. As of Nov 11, the depot has helped ensure the daily operation of 16 flights and the transportation of 190.49 tons in cargo.
With the help of the cross-border e-commerce center that opened under support of the airport customs, the process for cross-border e-commerce cargo entering the center to be loaded on the apron for further transportation can be shortened by at least 24 hours.
