The China (Guangxi) Medical Expert Team for Aiding Pakistan in Flood Relief returned after more than two weeks of work in Pakistan.
Pakistan has suffered from devastating floods since June, causing heavy casualties and property losses. The Chinese government assigned Guangxi to immediately dispatch a medical team to Pakistan at the request of the Pakistani government, with the team leaving for Pakistan on Oct 28.

Professional and experienced medical staff members in areas of gastroenterology, infectious diseases, respiratory medicine, dermatology, general surgery, nursing, drinking water sanitation, mosquito vector monitoring and transmission, environmental cleaning, as well as laboratory testing were included in the team for medical treatment and pandemic prevention efforts.
Huang Wenxin, head of the medical team, noted that the team carried out close work exchanges with relevant Pakistani departments during their stay in Pakistan, as well as carried out volunteer clinics together with local medical staff members, donating a batch of medicine and medical materials that were in urgent need.
