On Nov 8, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,346 new cases of confirmed infections (52 imported cases, 16 in Guangdong province, 12 in Fujian province, 6 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Sichuan province, 3 in Yunnan province and 2 in Jiangsu province, including 5 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Zhejiang province and 2 in Guangdong province; 1,294 indigenous cases, 592 in Guangdong province, 159 in Henan province, 157 in Chongqing municipality, 135 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 69 in Shanxi province, 40 in Sichuan province, 34 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 32 in Beijing municipality, 13 in Yunnan province, 13 in Shaanxi province, 10 in Gansu province, 8 in Hunan province, 6 in Shandong province, 5 in Zhejiang province, 4 in Qinghai province, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Fujian province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Hubei province, 2 in Hainan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Guizhou province and 1 in Tibet autonomous region, including 436 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 395 in Guangdong province, 12 in Sichuan province, 9 in Gansu province, 4 in Shanxi province, 4 in Shaanxi province, 3 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Hunan province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Nov 8, 277 patients were released from hospital after being cured (42 imported cases; 235 indigenous cases, 55 in Guangdong province, 36 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 29 in Fujian province, 16 in Shaanxi province, 14 in Chongqing municipality, 14 in Sichuan province, 13 in Jiangsu province, 9 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 8 in Shanxi province, 7 in Beijing municipality, 7 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Heilongjiang province, 4 in Anhui province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Hunan province, 2 in Yunnan province, 2 in Gansu province, 2 in Qinghai province, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Henan province). 60,713 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Nov 8, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 26,204 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 25,692 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 512 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 8, the National Health Commission had received reports of 266,359 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 252,820 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 8,313 confirmed cases (including 27 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 8,498,438 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 708,230 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 8, 971 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (157 imported cases; 814 indigenous cases, 132 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 118 in Guangdong province, 72 in Sichuan province, 68 in Yunnan province, 65 in Fujian province, 43 in Qinghai province, 37 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 35 in Tianjin municipality, 34 in Shandong province, 26 in Hebei province, 24 in Shaanxi province, 21 in Jiangsu province, 20 in Heilongjiang province, 17 in Shanxi province, 17 in Hubei province, 17 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, 16 in Anhui province, 10 in Shanghai municipality, 10 in Zhejiang province, 10 in Chongqing municipality, 8 in Tibet autonomous region, 4 in Gansu province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Hunan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Jilin province). 441 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 5 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Nov 8, 46,608 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 1,115 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 8, 8,369,493 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 439,646 in Hong Kong (10,479 had died and 93,192 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 795 in Macao (6 had died and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 7,929,052 in Taiwan (13,247 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
