Wuxi-based lithium battery maker builds technology center in Europe

Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Co Ltd in Wuxi National Hi-tech District, East China's Jiangsu province, recently announced the establishment of its overseas technology competence center in Germany.

This move made Wuxi Lead the first Chinese lithium equipment manufacturer to establish a technology center in Europe.

The announcement was made after its acquisition of automation equipment manufacturer Ontec.

The acquisition is an important move for Wuxi Lead's global operations and is expected to provide strong strategic support for the enterprise's overseas expansion.

Ontec's factory in Germany mainly supplies customized equipment and automation solutions and has more than 20 years of experience in electrical engineering machinery, robot technology, and industrial image processing.

Ontec's German factory will further improve Wuxi Lead's crafts and services and become a crucial force behind the enterprise's manufacturing, processing and services in Europe.

Wuxi Lead has built 11 overseas branch companies offering world-renowned automakers and batter enterprises equipment and services.

Established in 2002, the company has become the world's leading manufacturer of lithium battery intelligent equipment and produces about 80 percent of iPhone batteries.

In July 2018, it began construction on its semiconductor and fuel cell manufacturing base, making it the domestic leader in research and development in this area.
