Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region dispatched seven professional purchasing delegations to the ongoing fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE), which opened on Nov 4 in Shanghai.
The seven delegations focus on the seven areas of consumer goods, automobiles, trade in services, technology and equipment, food and agricultural products, medical devices, as well as medicine and health care. In addition, trade groups of 14 Guangxi cities were arranged to explore cooperation opportunities.
It is expected that Guangxi will make full use of the CIIE platform to expand its import markets and to enhance cooperation with the Yangtze River Delta region in the areas of industry, trade, technology, as well as innovation.
Thirty-three time-honored brands and enterprises managing intangible cultural heritage products have been selected to be showcased to the public during the CIIE. Measures like exhibit displays, on-site performances, and live streams have been carried out to showcase the charm of traditional Guangxi culture. A 360-square-meter exhibition hall featuring Guangxi's achievements in high-level opening-up has also been set up.
Representatives of more than 200 enterprises, including over 30 Fortune Global 500 companies, participated in a theme promotion fair of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor held on Nov 5. Contracts, worth around 13.5 billion yuan ($1.9 billion), were signed during the fair covering new-generation information technology and smart manufacturing.
