A freight train loaded with 54 containers from Shenyang East Railway Station arrived in Dalian Port of Dalian Jinpu New Area, Northeast China's Liaoning province, on October 25, marking the opening of a new transport route.
All containers will board a ship of Danish shipping and logistics giant A.P. Moller-Maersk in Dalian Port and depart for Bremerhaven Port in Germany, before arriving at their final destination in Leipzig by rail.
Liaoning recently rolled out plans to build a comprehensive high-quality transport network, an integral part of China's efforts to boost its transportation and complete the building of the land-sea trade corridor in northeastern China by 2025.
To accelerate the building of the land-sea trade corridor in northeastern China, Dalian Port Jifa Logistics Co Ltd of Liaoning Port Group has strengthened its cooperation with A.P. Moller-Maersk on the opening of a rail-sea transport route, in a move to expand its coverage into inland cities like Shenyang and provide customers with low-carbon, environmentally-friendly, safe and stable, time-saving and low-cost transport services.
The opening of the freight train has boosted the logistical transport capacity between Shenyang and Dalian and further upgraded local transport services.
